UP, UP AND AWAY
As they approached their 25th anniversary, Virgin Balloon Flights celebrated in style by asking The Design Bank to create a design concept for their campaign. In their 25 years, Virgin Ballon Flights have visited places far and wide, from the Ryder Cup to the Ashes, even appearing at Wimbolden.
Virgin wanted its 25-year celebration to encapsulate its ethos, stating that the campaign should feel exciting, adventurous and thrilling- much like their balloon trips. The Design Bank took inspiration from some of Virgin’s most exciting ventures, incorporating a ball from each famous campaign. With that, the campaign was underway, and the sporting balls-themed balloons took flight.
The campaign was a success, Virgin’s very own Richard Branson commented:
“I’m enormously proud of our achievement in becoming the world’s biggest hot air balloon business. I think it’s fair to say that the Virgin brand is now synonymous with hot-air ballooning. This is all down to the wonderful Virgin Balloon Flights team. So, thank you again for all your brilliant work. Happy 25th birthday, Virgin Balloon Flights, and here’s to the next 25, cheers.”
